Job Summary:

Fort St. John (FSJ) Chances Casino is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. FSJ is a vibrant city in the Northeast Region of BC, offering a unique blend of cultural, leisure, and outdoor experiences.

As a Chef de Partie, you will work closely with the Sous Chefs to ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of menu items, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist senior chefs in ensuring fresh food and menu options are available throughout service periods
  2. Promote a customer-focused culture within the kitchen and service teams, addressing customer complaints and concerns promptly
  3. Develop clear communication and liaison between the food service team and kitchen staff, fostering an inclusive culture among catering staff
  4. Work as an active and cooperative team member, being flexible in approaching changes in practices and guest needs
  5. Participate in promoting the department's aim to meet and exceed guest expectations

Requirements:

  1. Good command of the English language, both spoken and written
  2. Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  3. 1-2 years of previous experience in large-volume catering to consistently high standards
  4. Commitment to high standards of quality catering
  5. Willingness to learn on the job and develop new skills

Education and Certifications:

  1. Basic food hygiene certification or other equivalent qualifications
  2. Basic health and safety certifications or other equivalent qualifications will be an asset
  3. Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
