About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Wellness Support Worker to join our team in Bella Coola, BC. As a member of our interdisciplinary community health team, you will provide essential physical, emotional, and social supports to designated population groups in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day physical, emotional, and social supports, advocacy, life skills assistance, information, resources, and demonstrations to clients.
  • Report back to the interdisciplinary team on clients' progress and condition.
  • Establish working relationships with various agencies and organizations.
  • Co-facilitate support groups, cultural activities, and public education initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A certificate in a Community Social Service or related program and two years of recent, related experience working with designated population groups.
  • Valid class V BC Driver's license for worksites that require driving to various locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively and prioritize client demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice from a harm reduction approach and build relationships with clients.
