Position Overview
Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Community Health Nurse and benefit from potential housing and relocation support, along with a financial recruitment incentive of up to $20,000. These incentives are time-sensitive and subject to specific conditions.
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to become part of our Home Support team. This role involves delivering a comprehensive array of public health, prevention, and health promotion services aimed at enhancing the overall health, well-being, and safety of clients. You will identify and prioritize wellness needs while fostering community partnerships to provide essential health promotion, advocacy, counseling, education, assessment, referral, and intervention in various community-based environments.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Experience in public health nursing or a relevant combination of education and training.
- Possession of a valid BC Driver's License; local travel requires the use of a personal vehicle, with mileage reimbursement available.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough understanding of public health nursing principles within a primary health care and population health framework.
- In-depth knowledge of BCCNM nursing practice standards.
- Expertise in evidence-based nursing practices related to childhood and adolescence.
- Proven ability to provide counseling to clients and their families.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Familiarity with immunization protocols.
- Proficient in using computerized client care information systems.
- Ability to critically analyze and apply current health research in practice.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, making informed nursing decisions.
- Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
