Our Allied Health Services team, comprised of skilled professionals like Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Social Workers, Registered Dietitians, Respiratory Therapists, and Rehabilitation Assistants, is dedicated to evidence-informed practice and patient-centered care.

We are currently seeking a temporary part-time Occupational Therapist (0.4FTE) to join our dynamic team.

Your Role

As an Acute Care Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients within our inpatient surgical units. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess patient needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and facilitate functional independence.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' occupational performance and identify areas requiring intervention.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals.
  • Provide direct therapy interventions to promote functional independence in activities of daily living, work, leisure, and community participation.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance occupational performance and manage their conditions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience providing acute care occupational therapy services.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
