Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting functional independence and occupational performance in our acute care setting.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy services as part of an interdisciplinary care team, supporting our acute inpatient surgical units. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, promoting optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions to promote functional independence and occupational performance
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Document patient progress and outcomes
  • Participate in interprofessional education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program or university with a clinical Masters in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is mandatory
  • Member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is preferred
  • Evidence of continuing education in Acute Care Occupational Therapy required
  • Completion of training certification for MoCA testing is required
  • Recent Occupational Therapy experience with a varied clinical practice in acute care (medical and surgical) and/or rehabilitation setting
