**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting functional independence and occupational performance in our acute care setting.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide occupational therapy services as part of an interdisciplinary care team, supporting our acute inpatient surgical units.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and document patient progress.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and promote a strong interprofessional model of care.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of community services, supports, and acute care flow to ensure effective referrals and transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

**Requirements**

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program or university with a clinical Masters in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is mandatory.
  • Member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is preferred.
  • Evidence of continuing education in Acute Care Occupational Therapy required.
  • Completion of training certification for MoCA testing is required.
  • Recent Occupational Therapy experience with a varied clinical practice in acute care (medical and surgical) and/or rehabilitation setting.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of OT role and scope in promoting functional independence and occupational performance in acute care setting.
  • Knowledge of community services, supports, and acute care flow is beneficial.
