Catering and Premium Service Senior Manager

The Catering Manager position is a critical role within the Catering Department, responsible for ensuring all operations are running smoothly, sales goals are being met, and quality of services are upheld. This position handles both internal and external catering sales, manages the catering budget, and projects upcoming business. Key responsibilities include marketing, menu development, custom quoting, and client invoicing.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Management
• Handle all catering sales calls and meet with clients to discuss catering requirements.
• Ensure all information acquired is accurately updated in CaterTrax and provide outstanding customer service.
• Utilize selling techniques to encourage upgrades and add-ons, and complete custom quotes in conjunction with the Executive Chef.
Event Contract Management
• Collect and review contracts on a daily basis from CaterTrax and Caterease, ensuring both systems are up-to-date and accurate.
• Attend weekly meetings with the conference office and catering team to discuss upcoming events and ensure seamless execution.
Daily Event Management
• Contact the conference office if unsure about information on a contract, and manage the catering supervisor to ensure all details of the catering contract are executed correctly and on time.
Financial Reporting and Management
• Complete quarterly, monthly, and weekly sales and labor projections, and ensure the team is working within the catering budget.
• Complete any financial reports requested by the Food Service Director, and ensure expenses are accurately accounted for.
Marketing
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the catering business to both internal and external clients.
• Create specials and LTOs to encourage ordering, and work with Conference Services to participate in Conference Centre marketing projects.
Managing CaterTrax Website
• Ensure all menus are accurate and up-to-date, and that back-end reporting is accurate and reliable.
Miscellaneous
• Develop new menu concepts and manage smallwares inventory and ordering.
• Enforce Health and Safety regulations and policies, and review incident report documentation in the event of an accident.
• Requires at least 3 years of experience in a management role, with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in events and catering.
• Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and excellent communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work event-based hours, and be available to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
