Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator and Public Health Expert to join our team at Fraser Health.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programs that meet the clinical and learner needs of our staff and patients. This includes determining education priorities, creating supportive learning environments, and evaluating program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine education priorities that meet clinical and learner needs in collaboration with the Manager/Director
  • Complete learning needs assessments of individuals or groups to assist in the determination of educational requirements and objectives
  • Develop and revise educational programs based on clinical evidence, policy, literature, and resources
  • Create supportive and interprofessional learning environments utilizing education theory and building strong professional relationships with learners
  • Deliver learner-centered education to individual or groups of staff and patients/clients/residents/families through various methods
  • Evaluate education program effectiveness by measuring outcomes, determining whether clinical objectives have been achieved, and assessing whether learning has occurred
  • Collaborate with other practice leaders to provide leadership, consultation, and performance support to clinical staff
  • Support staff to plan and carry out patient/client/resident/family education about discharge planning, illness prevention, and health maintenance
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities
  • Assist the Manager/Director in assessing clinical skill and performance, providing related input, and coaching staff to help them achieve established clinical performance goals

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Three years of recent related public health nursing clinical experience in the designated clinical area, including one year of education and/or leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Completion of post-graduate coursework and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes, as required

Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on experience.
