Job Summary



The Public Health Nurse is a vital member of our team at Fraser Health, providing nursing services that support the health and well-being of diverse individuals, families, and communities. As a Public Health Nurse, you will apply your knowledge and skills in health promotion, epidemiology, community development, and primary health care to develop and implement health services that meet the needs of our communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing services in accordance with established policies and protocols

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary/intersectoral teams to provide health education and promotion to diverse population groups

• Conduct health assessments, provide counseling, and offer referrals to promote healthy child development and early identification of developmental concerns

• Develop and implement health programs and services that address identified health needs and strengths

• Establish effective working relationships with community members, agencies, and professionals to promote healthy public policy and services

• Maintain accurate records, document observations and interventions, and collect statistics to inform program development and evaluation

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), a graduation from an approved school of nursing with a public health nursing component, and six months recent, relevant Public Health nursing experience or one year's recent nursing experience in Maternal/Infant/Child. A valid Class V B.C. Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes are also required.
