About the Role

Crown Floors Decor is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Bidding
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
    • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of construction costs, including labour, materials, and equipment
    • Prepare and submit pre-qualification submissions to clients
  • Project Analysis
    • Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine work requirements
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Cost Management
    • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
    • Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
    • Project cash flow and financing requirements
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
    • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Utilize quantity take-off procedures
    • Advise on tendering procedures
    • Analyze tenders and recommend awards
    • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
    • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
    Requirements
    • Education
      • College or CEGEP diploma
    • Experience
      • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in construction estimating
    • Language
      • English language proficiency
    • Work Environment
      • 35 hours per week
