About the Role

Pahals Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Planning: Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects.
  • Site Management: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Woodworking and Construction: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to create high-quality construction components.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, and maintain and repair residences and wooden structures.
  • Supervision and Teamwork: Supervise and instruct apprentices, and work collaboratively with other workers to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Cost Estimation and Management: Estimate costs and materials for construction projects, and ensure that projects are completed within budget.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Construction and renovation projects.
  • Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Work Conditions: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and working with minimal supervision.
