The Edmonton O-day'min Primary Care Network (EOPCN) is seeking Psychiatrists to provide consultative services for its specialty linkage program. The EOPCN is a multi-disciplinary team-based care organization centrally located in Edmonton's Mira Health Centre, supporting over 200 family physicians and their patients.

Our mission is to support the health and well-being of our communities through exceptional person-centred care. Our programs help patients meet their health and wellness goals by providing referral support to specialists in the community as well as in-house access to specialist care for specialties that cater to the unique needs of our patient population.

Job Description

We are looking for psychiatrists to work with our PCN to assist family physicians in assessing, treating, and managing their patients' mental and/or behavioural health concerns in a consultative model of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use evidence-based practice in the assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluation of patient mental health and wellbeing.
  • Utilize a variety of resources such as patient interviews, support person(s), electronic medical records, and Netcare data to obtain information about medical, social, and environmental history affecting mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide short-term consultation for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, stress and trauma-related disorders, sleep-wake disorders, substance use & concurrent disorders, and personality disorders.
  • Develop positive working relationships/partnerships with other EOPCN healthcare team members and clinical support team members, as well as EOPCN community to promote coordinated, quality care and access to appropriate resources for clients.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with vulnerable populations an asset
  • Ability to manage medical IT systems – EMR, Netcare, medical and pharmacological databases
  • Standard First Aid – Level C
  • Free access to/use of EOPCN central clinic space/consult rooms at Mira Health Centre location

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time services: Monday to Friday between the hours of 8AM to 4:30PM
  • Part-time services: 5 hr workdays per month
  • Casual services: 5 hr workday per month

Salary: $**$120,000 - $180,000 per year**, depending on experience and qualifications.
