Culinary Team Member Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Team Member to join our dynamic and innovative team in one of the largest hotels in Canada. As a key member of our Culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations, working within budget guidelines to minimize labor and food costs, and training and mentoring junior cooks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sous Chef with kitchen operations and management
  • Work within budget guidelines to minimize labor and food costs
  • Train and mentor junior cooks on daily duties and requirements
  • Participate in the preparation, cooking, and serving of all food items
  • Input work orders for items needing repair and place orders for food in the BirchStreet system
  • Comply with and enforce all health and safety, sanitary, and nutrition regulations
  • Adhere to ALLSAFE health and safety protocols

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Cook Certification or international equivalency
  • Minimum 3 years culinary experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or large kitchen environment
  • Safe Food Handling Certification required
  • Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Culinary School an asset
