Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Team Member to join our team at Fairmont Banff Springs. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sous Chef with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking.
  • Work within the hotel budget guidelines to minimize labor costs, food costs, and wastage.
  • Train and mentor junior cooks on daily duties and requirements.
  • Participate in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all food items for a la carte and buffet menus.
  • Comply with and enforce all health and safety, sanitary, and nutrition regulations.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Cook Certification or international equivalency.
  • Minimum 3 years' culinary experience in a luxury hotel or large kitchen environment.
  • Safe Food Handling Certification.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
