Technical Manager

About the RoleAs a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing new launch programs from inception to completion. This will involve developing detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, as well as coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful program launches. You will also be responsible for evaluating and updating new and existing tool sources within the facility, ensuring that all tooling meets company standards and customer requirements.
In addition, you will track program changes and document all modifications, provide technical assistance to customers, program managers, and operations teams, and ensure clear communication and documentation throughout the program lifecycle. You will also manage all tooling programs post-PPAP to ensure ongoing production meets specifications, oversee tooling maintenance, repairs, and upgrades as necessary, and monitor tooling performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage new launch programs from inception to completion
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for new launches
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful program launches
- Evaluate and update new and existing tool sources within the facility
- Ensure all tooling meets company standards and customer requirements
- Track program changes and document all modifications
- Provide technical assistance to customers, program managers, and operations teams
- Ensure clear communication and documentation throughout the program lifecycle
- Manage all tooling programs post-PPAP to ensure ongoing production meets specifications
- Oversee tooling maintenance, repairs, and upgrades as necessary
- Monitor tooling performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a technical management role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in a steel blanking facility
- Extensive experience with tooling programs and new launch projects
- Strong knowledge of PPAP, APQP, and other automotive quality processes
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
- Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
