Job Summary:

Native Child and Family Services of Toronto is seeking a skilled Indigenous Healing Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing culturally based prevention services to our children and families in the Toronto Indigenous Community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the OTC Process within the agency and between departments.
  • Field referrals and conduct intake screenings with families.
  • Educate and prepare families on the OTC process.
  • Co-facilitate Circle with Elders to create a safe space for everyone's voice to be heard.
  • Develop an agreed-upon plan for moving forward.
  • Comply with provincial and occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding and practice of Indigenous approaches to healing, including land-based practices and cultural knowledge.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a combination of education and experience working with Indigenous people.
  • Experience in social services and strong facilitation skills in conducting traditional talking and sharing circles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, initiative, and respect for confidentiality.
