Lead, Operational Excellence and National Projects Manager

McKesson's Corporate is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead multiple cross-functional project teams in parallel through various operational excellence projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating, planning, driving execution, and presenting progress and risks to the Executive Project Leadership team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of distribution processes and network, with experience in project portfolio management in a matrix organization. They will possess excellent project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate conceptual strategies into tactical action plans.
The Project Manager will also be responsible for fostering and developing effective relationships across various business segments and functions, including Retail and Specialty Pharmacies, Distribution and National Operations, Business Developments and Sales, and IT and Technology Solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead multiple operational workstreams in national cross-functional initiatives.
- Act as an operational SME for smaller cross-functional initiatives.
- Represent operations within the core project team, providing guidance on operational constraints and influencing global project strategy.
- Control and manage all operational excellence major projects, identifying conflicts within and across each project, planning for resources, dates, and tasks to ensure achievement of key project milestones.
- Create and standardize project management tools, train project managers on the tools, and establish project team and governance structure.
- Develop and present project charters to initiate projects and obtain executive buy-in.
- Establish project team and governance structure, create and update consolidated master project plans, and ensure each workstream plan is complete and accurate.
- Support project financial management activities, track and forecast all project expenses, including capital and operational costs.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify discrepancies, ensure justification is duly documented and approved, and lead project team coordination activities and meetings.
- Prepare and distribute project documentation, ensure project deliverables are recorded in central project repository, and provide training and mentorship to other team members regarding project management principles and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent business experience.
- Solid understanding and experience in Supply Chain Management would be a strong asset.
- 10+ years' experience in a similar position.
- Project Management Professional certification or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
