About the Role
MCD McKesson Canada Corporation / La Corporation McKesson Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Lead, Operational Excellence and National Projects. This role will play a critical part in driving operational excellence and national projects across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple cross-functional project teams in parallel to drive operational excellence and national projects.
- Act as an operational SME for smaller cross-functional initiatives and provide guidance on operational constraints and influence global project strategy.
- Represent operations within the core project team and provide input on operational feasibility and influence project strategy.
- Manage all operational excellence major projects, identify conflicts, plan resources, dates, and tasks to ensure achievement of key project milestones.
- Create and standardize project management tools and train project managers on their use.
- Develop and present project charters to initiate projects and obtain executive buy-in.
- Establish project teams and governance structures, create and maintain consolidated master project plans, and ensure each workstream plan is complete and accurate.
- Support project financial management activities, track and forecast project expenses, and collaborate with stakeholders to identify discrepancies.
- Lead project team coordination activities and meetings, prepare and distribute project documentation, and ensure project deliverables are recorded in a central project repository.
- Provide training and mentorship to other team members on project management principles and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent business experience.
- 10+ years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a matrix organization.
- Project Management Professional certification or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of distribution processes and networks, with experience in project portfolio management and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business conditions.
