Job Description

H&R Block Canada, the leading tax preparation company in Canada for 60 years, is seeking a skilled Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our team.

The Senior HRBP will provide comprehensive HR support and guidance to our CSC Departments and Field Associates, reporting to the Director of Human Resources.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver HR corporate training programs focusing on leadership skills and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) to address business needs.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues through thorough workplace investigations and accurate documentation.
  • Closely collaborate with People Leaders and Associates to provide coaching on performance management, career growth, succession planning, and resolving workplace issues.
  • Review and develop HR policies annually, providing guidance and interpretation to ensure compliance with HR regulations.
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop effective HR solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Assist leaders with change management efforts during new process and initiative implementations.
  • Stay updated on provincial employment legislations to ensure organizational compliance.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Human Resources or a related field and 7 years of experience as an HR generalist, including at least 3 years developing HR corporate training programs, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in French is a significant asset.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align HR strategies with business goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws across Canada.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Change management skills to support organizational transitions.
  • Proven collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range between $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including a comprehensive health insurance plan, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
