We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Montréal. This is a key role that will provide critical support to our business leaders and employees in all aspects of human resources and labour relations.

The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, HR and Labour Relations and works closely with senior leadership to drive business results while ensuring compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead labour relations priorities within the assigned region, including administration of collective agreements and labour management relationships.
  • Provide advice, coaching, and counseling support to local management in labour relations, contract interpretation, discipline, attendance management, and grievances.
  • Investigate and fact-find employee and labour relations issues related to harassment and disciplinary matters.
  • Balance advocacy of employees with business requirements to ensure fair decisions.
  • Implement HR programs for all employees, salaried, union, and non-union.
  • Champion performance and talent management processes, participating in talent reviews and succession planning.
  • Conduct training for employees and managers as required on labour relations, attendance management, anti-harassment, and discrimination.
  • Stay current with labour and employment legislation and HR industry developments, contributing to continuous improvement by influencing HR strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Support change initiatives and leaders in effective change management.

Qualifications:

  • University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of human resources experience, including 3 years of labour relations experience.
  • Experience supporting multi-location operations with multiple collective agreements.
  • Proven ability to work closely with leaders to resolve employee issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused with relationship-building strengths and experience developing workforce plans based on business goals.
  • Comfortable working in a high-change and fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative skills with consensus-building abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting an inclusive work environment and supporting workforce diversity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
