Job Summary:
The Director of Warehouse and Supply Chain Services will be responsible for the management of our operating buildings that provide warehouse solutions, transloading, and special projects, ensuring they operate profitably and at maximum capacity. The individual will work with the VP of Operations across Canada, including Sales, to understand the business requirements based on each specific building's needs. They will sell the suite of services we offer as part of our value proposition to customers. The individual must work independently to target new business opportunities and liaise with the Sales Team as the subject matter expert. Additionally, they will ensure current customers receive warehouse solutions according to their agreement's annual increases. The role will report directly to the CCO of Fastfrate Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Development: Develop and manage Fastfrate Group warehouses from a commercial standpoint, focusing on maximizing profitability and creating synergies.
- Business Growth: Deliver targeted results, including increasing revenue and market share through strategic lead sourcing and customer acquisition.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Develop and implement lead sourcing strategies to attract the right customers, ensuring seamless integration with our warehouse solutions.
- Customer Engagement: Build templates and questionnaires to ensure we cover all aspects of customer needs and cost the opportunity properly, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Pricing and Negotiation: Work with the pricing group to expedite pricing requirements, negotiating terms and conditions with customers to drive business growth.
- Industry Benchmarking: Benchmark and adapt industry best practices to drive competitive value propositions, staying ahead of market trends and competitor activity.
- Sales Alignment: Align sales with the Sales team across all groups as a subject matter expert, ensuring a cohesive and effective sales strategy.
- Supply Chain Implementation: Lead the implementation of supply chain/warehouse for customer onboarding, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
- Capacity Optimization: Ensure all warehouses are always operating at maximum capacity, maximizing efficiency and reducing costs.
- Financial Performance: Meet budget expectations, driving business growth and profitability through strategic decision-making.
- Business Development: During downtime, sell all other lines of business, identifying new opportunities and driving revenue growth.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain working relationships across the Fastfrate Group of companies, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
- Sales and Marketing: Sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails, identifying sales prospects for further development and closure.
- Customer Understanding: Understanding customer needs and requirements, researching accounts, identifying key players, and generating interest.
- Sales Performance: Closing sales and achieving quarterly quotas, maintaining and expanding your database of prospects.
- Team Collaboration: Teaming with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals, working with all departments through onboarding of secured business.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and WMS, with strong communication skills and the ability to develop strategies aimed at growth expectations.
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Industry Expertise: MUST have experience in supply/demand and competitive landscape, with great interpersonal and communication skills.
