Business Development Manager of Warehousing and Supply Chain Operations

Director of Warehouse and Supply Chain Services
The Director of Warehouse and Supply Chain Services will be responsible for the strategic management of our operating buildings that provide warehouse solutions, transloading, and special projects. The individual will work closely with the VP of Operations across Canada, including Sales, to understand business requirements based on each specific building's needs. They will develop and implement lead sourcing strategies to attract new customers and drive revenue growth. The role will report directly to the CCO of Challenger Motor Freight Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Fastfrate group warehouses from a commercial standpoint, ensuring maximum profitability and capacity utilization.
- Deliver targeted results, including maximizing bottom-line profitability by creating synergies and driving revenue growth.
- Develop and implement lead sourcing strategies to attract new customers and drive revenue growth.
- Build templates and questionnaires to ensure all aspects of customer needs are covered and opportunities are properly costed.
- Work with the pricing group to speed up pricing requirements and ensure competitive pricing.
- Benchmark industry best practices to drive a competitive value proposition and stay ahead of the competition.
- Sales alignment with the Sales team across all groups as a subject matter expert.
- Lead the implementation of supply chain and warehouse solutions for customer onboarding.
- Ensure all warehouses operate at maximum capacity and meet budget expectations.
- During downtime, sell all other lines of business and explore new revenue streams.
- Develop and maintain working relationships across the Fastfrate group of companies.
Requirements:
- Sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
- Understanding customer needs and requirements.
- Identifying sales prospects for further development and closure.
- Closing sales and achieving quarterly quotas.
- Researching accounts, identifying key players, and generating interest.
- Maintaining and expanding a database of prospects.
- Teamwork with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals.
- Performing effective online demos to prospects.
- Working with all departments during the onboarding of secured business.
- All other duties as assigned by the VP of Sales.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and WMS.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategies aimed at growth expectations.
- Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
- MUST have experience in supply/demand and competitive landscape.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Experience negotiating terms and conditions, including customer contracts.
