Job Title: Forensic Community and Liaison Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Community and Liaison Social Worker to join our team at BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive social work services to clients with complex mental health and substance use challenges in a forensic setting. This includes conducting initial intake and ongoing biopsychosocial assessments, developing and implementing Integrated Treatment Plans, and providing community case coordination and advocacy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide community-based services, including case coordination and advocacy, to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance services and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of recent experience working in a mental health setting.
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW).
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
  • CPR Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of social work theory and forensic psychiatric social work practice.
  • Experience working with Indigenous populations and understanding of Indigenous-specific anti-racism initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Bill C-30 and the Provincial Court system.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and its applications in forensic settings.
