Job Title: Forensic Community and Liaison Social Worker

BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Community and Liaison Social Worker to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced social worker to provide community-based services to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, and support services to clients in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health and substance use needs, and develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide community-based services, including case coordination, advocacy, and support, to clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, community agencies, and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans and service delivery strategies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of recent experience working in a mental health setting.
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW) is required.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of social work theory and forensic psychiatric social work practice.
  • Experience working with Indigenous populations and knowledge of Indigenous-specific anti-racism initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Bill C-30 and the Provincial Court system.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and its applications in mental health treatment.
