Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Smitty's Family Restaurant and Lounge. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a high level of food quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of 5-10 staff members who prepare and portion food.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Food Quality and Safety
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation to ensure efficient inventory management.
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage to inform business decisions.
    • Prepare and submit reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Customer Service
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Supervise and check the assembly of trays to ensure presentation and quality standards are met.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a team.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week. The work environment is fast-paced, and the ability to stand for extended periods is required.
