Unlocking the Power of Advanced AI in Healthcare

Banting AI is pioneering the use of advanced AI to revolutionize the future of healthcare. By harnessing the potential of healthcare data, we aim to accelerate the development of life-saving treatments and improve patient outcomes.

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Banting AI, you will play a key role in developing our multimodal foundation models, which integrate diverse healthcare data sources such as imaging, electronic health records (EHR), and genomics. Your work will be at the forefront of scientific innovation, helping to unlock complex insights within clinical data and drive meaningful change in the field of healthcare.

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applied machine learning and experience working with multimodal data or healthcare applications.

The successful candidate will design and develop machine learning models that integrate and harmonize multiple data types into powerful multimodal foundation models. They will also collaborate with data engineering and scientific teams to establish data workflows that ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance, supporting robust model training and testing.

In addition, the candidate will work cross-functionally to align model development with clinical objectives and regulatory standards. They will implement responsible AI practices, including bias detection, fairness evaluation, and safety checks, to ensure that models align with ethical and regulatory standards in healthcare.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field with a strong foundation in applied machine learning.
  • ~3+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with demonstrated expertise in multimodal data or healthcare applications.
  • ~ Proficiency in Python and experience with key machine learning libraries and frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn.
  • ~ Strong understanding of multimodal data fusion, feature engineering, and model architecture for scalable applications in clinical and research settings.
  • ~ Experience working with healthcare or biomedical data (e.g. EHRs, imaging, genomics) and familiarity with healthcare data privacy and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR).
  • ~ Excellent problem-solving skills, scientific rigor, and a collaborative approach to working within a cross-functional team.
