  • Pragmatic Decision-Making: Translate the CSO’s research focus into actionable, practical engineering solutions, balancing long-term innovation with short-term delivery.
  • Responsible AI & Compliance: Uphold high standards for responsible AI and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR), building trust with partners and users.
  • Team Building & Mentorship: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a talented engineering team, establishing a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, data science, and business development teams to align technical execution with market needs, partner expectations, and company goals.
  • Project & Resource Management: Oversee technical project timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting, ensuring timely and efficient delivery on key milestones.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a strong foundation in machine learning, data engineering, and software architecture.
  • Experience: 7+ years in software engineering or machine learning, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role, ideally within healthcare, AI, or high-growth technology companies.
  • Healthcare Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with HIPAA, GDPR, and regulatory standards in healthcare, with a track record of implementing compliant systems.
  • Problem-Solving Orientation: Ability to make pragmatic, strategic technical decisions, balancing immediate product needs with long-term scalability and innovation.
  • Hands-On Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) along with experience in cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Collaborative Leader: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work cross-functionally and translate complex technical requirements for a range of stakeholders.
  • Commitment to Responsible AI: Knowledge of responsible AI practices, including bias detection, model transparency, and safety protocols, and a commitment to building fair, ethical AI solutions.
