The Clinical Coordinator - Cancer Care Team role at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families.

Located in Vancouver, BC, this position is part of the BC Cancer Agency, which provides comprehensive cancer control for the people of British Columbia.

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as a Clinical Coordinator. In this role, you will provide secretarial and administrative support within a team setting, ensuring a safe environment for patients, families, and staff by adhering to safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and emergency procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and respond to calls from all sources, including patients, referring calls to other parties or providing information as necessary.
  • Determine the urgency of incoming calls and take appropriate action.
  • Relay information to and from clinical staff and outside facilities.
  • Obtain reports by contacting relevant departments or outside sources.
  • Coordinate appointments and tests for patients in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Access patient information systems to retrieve patient data as needed.
  • Greet visitors and handle inquiries.
  • Arrange meetings and conferences, along with associated logistics. Act as a recording secretary by preparing agendas, drafting, typing, and distributing minutes. Prepare materials as required.
  • Open, screen, prioritize, and distribute mail. Maintain information and correspondence.
  • Format and edit documents for correspondence. Draft routine items for signature as necessary.
  • Assist with collecting, collating, formatting, and preparing reports as required.
  • Support clinicians in the preparation of research documents and grant applications by collating information and updating documents.
  • Assist with clinician scheduling, timekeeping, and collaborating with the clinical team for coverage as needed.

About You:

  • You have a Grade 12 education, a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription, and three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • You possess excellent keyboarding skills, with the ability to type at least 50 wpm.
  • You can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • You have physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • You have the ability to organize work.
  • You have the ability to operate related equipment.
  • You are committed to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC (2015), and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
