Job Title: Building Services Worker

Delco Building Maintenance (2007) Ltd is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Building Services Worker to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our apartment/condominium complex and janitorial service company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Perform safety and security checks, and contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses: Building Service Worker Course and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Area of Work Experience: Cleaning.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, repetitive tasks, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability.
Working Conditions:
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
