About the Role

The University of Toronto is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead the Catering and Events team. As a key member of the Culinary Management Team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality food and beverage services to the university community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the operation of the Chestnut Conference Centre and off-site food and beverage services
  • Develop and implement new menus and food offerings to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders
  • Provide training and mentorship to culinary staff to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and high-quality service standards
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Management Team to achieve strategic goals and objectives
  • Manage budgets and financial resources to ensure efficient and effective operations

Requirements

  • Certified Red Seal Chef qualification or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • University degree in business or hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in managing large, unionized conference centres and off-site food and beverage operations
  • Advanced knowledge of food and beverage management principles and practices
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills
