Job Summary

The Clinical Operations Director will serve as a key leader in Saskatchewan healthcare, partnering with system leaders to achieve our province's healthcare goals. This position will work closely with the Area Department Lead Anesthesiology and Health System Colleagues to develop and achieve strategy by articulating gaps and needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational and business plans, including cascading, monitoring, reporting, and course correction.
  • Provide leadership to enable an innovative and positive working climate and a client-centric culture.
  • Work cross-functionally within the portfolio and across the organization to support operations.
  • Develop partnerships and work closely with system and community partners.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of academic activities, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical standards direction of the Division.
  • Develop and implement operational standards to be incorporated into the daily work performed within the Area Division.
  • Work in partnership with the Area Division Administrative Structure and in consultation with members of the division to develop the operational plan for the delivery of high-quality clinical services.
  • Lead the division within the area and ensure that it discharges its responsibilities effectively.
  • Provide leadership and support to the academic and clinical work undertaken by all faculty and physicians within the Department.
  • Facilitate research activities and provision of patient care.

Requirements

  • Licensed medical practitioner in good standing with the relevant medical authority.
  • Member of the medical staff of the SHA.
  • Hold an academic appointment in the College of Medicine.
  • Experience as a leader who has worked in partnership with administrative leaders to develop innovative programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • 3+ years in a leadership position with progressive advancement.
  • Knowledge of and experience in guiding health quality improvement processes and initiatives.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced education in Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, and/or Leadership Studies.
  • Canadian Certified Physician Executive Credential for physicians.
  • Additional training and/or education in leadership/management.
