As a leading luxury resort, The Algonquin Resort offers an unparalleled guest experience in the heart of St. Andrews by the Sea. With a rich history and commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our sales and marketing initiatives.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned professional to join our team as Director of Sales & Marketing. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that drive occupancy and revenue growth across all resort offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement innovative sales and marketing plans to drive occupancy and revenue across all resort offerings.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels, aligning with the Marriott Autograph Collection standards and the unique character of The Algonquin Resort.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and customer preferences, using insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Digital Marketing: Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, and website content, to enhance online presence and engagement.
  • Partnership Development: Foster relationships with relevant businesses, tourism organizations, and influencers to expand outreach and drive referrals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or Business preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience.
  • Marriott Brand Experience an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy.
  • Ability to inspire, lead, and develop a team by example.
  • Act as owner of the hotel and communicate a clear sense of strategy and purpose.
  • Well organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-up.
  • Ability to convert vision into specific and tangible actions to benefit the hotel.
  • Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving market dynamics and needs.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is between $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
