The Opportunity:

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our team in driving revenue growth, enhancing brand visibility, and attracting new clientele.

The Role:

The Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the resort's vision and goals. This role is vital in leading our team in driving revenue growth, enhancing brand visibility, and attracting new clientele during our transformative journey and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement innovative sales and marketing plans to drive occupancy and revenue across all resort offerings, including accommodations, dining, events, golf, and spa services.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels, aligning with the Marriott Autograph Collection standards and the unique character of The Algonquin Resort.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and customer preferences, using insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Digital Marketing: Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, and website content, to enhance online presence and engagement.
  • Partnership Development: Foster relationships with relevant businesses, tourism organizations, and influencers to expand outreach and drive referrals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze sales and marketing performance metrics, adjusting strategies to optimize results and achieve revenue targets.

Competencies We Are Seeking:

· Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or Business preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of sales experience.

· Marriott Brand Experience an asset.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy.

· Ability to inspire, lead, and develop a team by example.

· Act as owner of the hotel and communicate a clear sense of strategy and purpose.

· Well-organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow-up.

· Ability to convert vision into specific and tangible actions to benefit the hotel.

· Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

· Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving market dynamics and needs.

· You're thoughtful, with strong selling skills, and you emulate the Marriott Autograph Culture.
