The Opportunity

As a key member of our leadership team, the Director of Sales and Marketing will play a vital role in driving revenue growth, enhancing brand visibility, and attracting new clientele to The Algonquin Resort, Marriott Autograph Collection.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the resort's vision and goals. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing innovative sales and marketing plans to drive occupancy and revenue across all resort offerings.
  • Ensuring consistent brand messaging across all channels, aligning with the Marriott Autograph Collection standards and the unique character of The Algonquin Resort.
  • Conducting in-depth market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and customer preferences, using insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Overseeing digital marketing initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, and website content, to enhance online presence and engagement.
  • Fostering relationships with relevant businesses, tourism organizations, and influencers to expand outreach and drive referrals.
  • Leading and mentoring the sales and marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
  • Analyzing sales and marketing performance metrics, adjusting strategies to optimize results and achieve revenue targets.
Key Competencies

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or Business.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy, and ability to inspire, lead, and develop a team by example.
  • Ability to act as owner of the hotel, communicate a clear sense of strategy and purpose, and diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people.
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving market dynamics and needs, and embody the Marriott Autograph Culture.
