Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team at HighWay Line Trucking Ltd.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for driving a semi-trailer truck as part of a two-person team or convoy, loading and unloading goods, and overseeing the condition of the vehicle. They will also be required to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and relay information to central dispatch.
Key Responsibilities- Driving and Vehicle Maintenance: Drive a semi-trailer truck safely and efficiently, and perform regular inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods from the truck, and ensure that cargo is properly secured and protected.
- Communication: Relay information to central dispatch, and receive and respond to messages as needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience as a truck driver.
- Licenses and Certifications: Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks).
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to use a citizens band (CB) radio.
The successful candidate will be required to work on the road, with a typical work week consisting of 40 hours per week. They will be required to work independently, with minimal supervision, and will be expected to be flexible and organized in their work.
