Reliability Improvement Specialist

NES Fircroft is seeking a skilled Reliability Improvement Specialist to support our valued client, a large Oil & Gas company, in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a six-month contract role with a 4x3 rotation.

As a Reliability Improvement Specialist, you will be responsible for optimizing Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities at the client's site. Your key objectives will include:

  • Ensuring all instruments are added to Maximo.
  • Setting up PMs for all instruments as necessary.
  • Verifying PM frequencies comply with requirements of S23, LTO, IPF commitments.
  • Optimizing RCM PM frequencies based on past history of CM work orders for associated assets, vendor recommendations, operating conditions, etc.
  • Reviewing PMs for accuracy with respect to correct title, long text description, lead times, etc.
  • Ensuring PM long text has the correct maintenance procedure associated with it.
  • Verifying no discrepancies within the PM between the PM descriptions, titles, and associated Job plans, etc.
  • Identifying opportunities to change route-based PMs to individual instrument PMs.
  • Supporting E&I maintenance groups to review and optimize maintenance and calibration procedures.
  • Collaborating with Instrument Engineer, Maintenance coordinators, and Operations to gather necessary information and implement changes as required.

Expected background:

  • 10 years' experience as an instrumentation technologist or higher in oil and gas, utilities, or other heavy industries with hands-on troubleshooting and reliability improvement experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of field instrumentation installation and reliability aspects.
  • Previous experience with instrumentation reliability improvement efforts, instrumentation PM plans implementation.
  • Experience with Maximo will be highly preferred.
  • Ability to work at a remote work site with field visits.
