Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our Maintenance team at a client site north of Fort McMurray. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair transmitters, switches, control valves, and other instrumentation equipment.
  • Calibrate and adjust set points on various instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with the control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
  • Install and troubleshoot tubing and air-actuated instruments.
  • Monitor the functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect potential hazards and recommend adjustments or replacements.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems to minimize downtime.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following established safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Certified Journeyperson Instrumentation ticket.
  • Industrial maintenance experience working on a petro-chemical facility is an asset.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions.
  • Positive attitude towards safety.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance with site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Required Safety Tickets.
  • Energy Safety Canada (ESC) H2S Alive, Fall Arrest, AWP, and Confined Space training (asset).

Working Conditions:

  • CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots are required.
  • Work in various environments, including indoors and outdoors, in hot and cold weather conditions, and in areas with noise and dust.
  • Provided with coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat, and gloves.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs with assistance.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods and climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
