About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Quality Expert to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As an integral part of our Oil Sands Monitoring (OSM) Program, you will play a key role in evaluating air data, indicators, and associated thresholds, as well as generating reporting products and predictions to assess environmental change against ecological benchmarks.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the evaluation of air quality and deposition monitoring programs, ensuring that scientifically credible and relevant information is provided to stakeholders, including the Government of Alberta, to responsibly manage Alberta's environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating air data, indicators, and associated thresholds to inform reporting products and predictions.
  • Generating comprehensive reports on air quality and deposition monitoring programs.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to synthesize integrated reporting among OSM scientific teams.
  • Developing and leading research projects to address major issues related to the OSM Program and the Government of Alberta.
  • Ensuring long-term air quality and deposition monitoring programs are delivered safely and effectively.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of five years of experience in atmospheric and air monitoring sciences or a related field. A Master's degree in a related field, plus seven years of experience, or a university graduation in a related field, plus nine years of experience, is also acceptable.

What We Offer

This is a permanent full-time position located in Calgary, offering a competitive salary range of $94,068 - $124,867 per year, paid bi-weekly. We offer a dynamic work environment and opportunities for professional growth and development.
