As a Store Operations Assistant at Shoppers Drug Mart, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Front Store Manager in managing the human, physical, and financial resources of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Store Standards to optimize customer experience and drive store profitability
  • Work with the Management Team to ensure Store Standards are in effect 100% of the time
  • Help manage labour scheduling and leverage Work Force Management to maximize labour productivity
  • Ensure staffing levels are adequate to effectively operate the business

Human Resources:

  • Comply with Human Resources Standards
  • Assist with hiring in conjunction with the FSM, including hiring for all departments excluding Pharmacy
  • Maintain wage administration within SLPH guidelines
  • Drive Blue Culture, engagement, and lead and motivate staff through leading by our Core Values

Qualifications:

  • Planning, Judgement, and Decision Making
  • Planning and preparation for Inventory Management
  • Use judgment and decision-making skills to control expenses
  • Provide effective leadership and ongoing mentorship and ensure development of all staff
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Able to prioritize activities quickly in response to changing initiatives
  • Effective organization and planning skills

Experience:

  • Previous retail management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive the business, led by example and support corporate programs
  • Work effectively with management team
  • Superior interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Relationship builder with key internal and external agencies
