About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at the Northern Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced nursing home environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Personal Care: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Support Daily Living Activities: Help patients with meal preparation, serving, and feeding, as well as maintaining their living spaces.
  • Communicate Effectively: Respond to patients' needs, answer call signals, and deliver messages, reports, and specimens between departments.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure the nursing home is clean, safe, and well-maintained, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate program or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing home environment.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting.
