Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Northern Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Plan Patient Care
    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet patients' needs
  • Provide Direct Patient Care
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
    • Monitor patients' conditions and respond to changes
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team
    • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and share knowledge
  • Education and Training
    • Provide health education programs to patients and their families
    • Develop and implement educational materials to promote healthy behaviors
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Supervise and mentor nursing staff
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
Requirements
  • Education
    • Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work
  • Certifications
    • Intravenous (IV) therapy Certification
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
