Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Store Events Coordinator at Michaels. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating events, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes, to provide a fun and engaging experience for guests.
  • Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they're looking for, and ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Complete operational tasks, including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards, to deliver our Brand Promises.
  • Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Communicate events with clients and store team members, and complete administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others.
  • Experience working with children and children's events.
  • Good communication skills, including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication, as well as listening skills.
  • Organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Retail and/or customer service experience required.
Work Environment

Our store is a public retail setting with a climate-controlled environment. Some stock rooms may not be climate-controlled, and some outdoor work may be required to retrieve shopping carts or unload trucks. The Frame shop contains glass cutters and heat presses, and work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
