Job Title: Senior Counsel, Airlines & Fleets Sector

This position will provide strategic legal counsel and support to the Airlines & Fleets Sector senior leadership team at Standard Aero.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, including OEM agreements, service center agreements, and intellectual property licensing agreements.
  • Manage in-house litigation matters, including legal research, memorandum drafting, and motion practice.
  • Lead sector merger and acquisition activities, from pre-buy counseling to post-close integration.
  • Train and manage sector staff counsel on legal, contract administration, and subcontract administration responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with various business functions to support new and existing business relationships.
  • Review and analyze FAA, EASA, and international equivalent regulations to provide business counseling to senior leadership.
  • Implement continuous improvement methods to develop and enhance departmental and sector processes.
  • Apply risk management strategies and analysis to all aspects of the business.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions to ensure currency of knowledge and understanding of legal and contracting principles.
  • Assist as compliance point of contact and gatekeeper for sector anti-corruption and trade compliance activities.
Requirements:
  • JD and active member of a state bar in the US or a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, accounting, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years in private practice or in-house experience, with aviation law experience a plus.
  • General knowledge of anti-bribery law and trade compliance matters.
  • Effective change agent with strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
