Job Summary

This role will provide strategic legal counsel and support to the Airlines & Fleets Sector senior leadership team at Standard Aero. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel and be responsible for managing in-house litigation matters, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, and coordinating with various business functions to drive business-positive results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage in-house litigation matters, including legal research, memorandum drafting, motion practice, and e-discovery.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate OEM agreements, service center agreements, and other contracts.
  • Coordinate with legal, business, finance, and operations units on various matters, including contract negotiations and risk management.
  • Review and analyze FAA, EASA, and international equivalent regulations and provide business counseling to senior leadership.
  • Implement and engage in continuous improvement methods to develop and enhance departmental and sector processes.
  • Assist as compliance point of contact and gatekeeper for sector anti-corruption and trade compliance activities.
Requirements
  • JD and active member of a state bar in the US or a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, accounting, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years in private practice or in-house experience, with aviation law experience a plus.
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
