Job Summary:

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Okanagan is seeking highly motivated and experienced Childcare Professionals to lead our School Aged Child Care Programs. As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and participating in quality and diverse recreational, social, and/or educational programming for children and youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging and inclusive programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social development of children and youth.
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to Activity Leaders and ensure the health, safety, and wellness of members.
  • Mentor and support Activity Leaders in their roles and responsibilities.
  • Build strong relationships with children, youth, and families, and establish open communication with parents/caregivers.
  • Transport members safely and efficiently using Club vans, if required.
  • Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for members.
  • Provide group and/or individual behavior management and support, ensuring compliance with Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing Regulations, and Risk Management requirements.

Requirements:

  • Education in childcare and/or experience planning, implementing, and evaluating childcare programs.
  • 20 hour responsible adult training or willingness to obtain internally upon hire.
  • First Aid Certificate and Food Safe or willingness to obtain.
  • Class 4 Driver's License or willingness to obtain is an asset.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age as per licensing requirements.
  • Successful completion of Agency screening, including a Criminal Record Check.

Working Conditions:

  • 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 2:00pm-6:00pm with increased hours over school breaks.
  • $19.82 per hour.
