Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Program Leaders to join our team at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Okanagan. As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality recreational, social, and educational programs for children aged 6-12 years in our licensed after-school programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging and diverse programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Provide direct supervision and ensure the health, safety, and wellness of children in our care.
  • Mentor and guide Activity Leaders to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with children, youth, and families, and establish open communication with parents/caregivers.
  • Transport children to and from school and other program sites as required.
  • Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for children.
  • Provide behavior management and support to children, ensuring compliance with Agency policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Education in childcare or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 20-hour responsible adult training or willingness to obtain.
  • First Aid Certificate and Food Safe certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Class 4 Driver's License or willingness to obtain as soon as possible.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age as per licensing requirements.
  • Successful completion of Agency screening, including a Criminal Record Check.

Working Conditions:

This is a casual on-call position, working Monday to Friday, with flexible hours. Strong potential for permanent positions, with most shifts being 1:30pm-6:30pm, with increased hours during school breaks.

Compensation:

$19.82 per hour.
