As a Program Leader with BGC Okanagan, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and participating in quality and diverse recreational, social, and/or educational programming for children aged 6 to 12 years.

You will provide direct supervision of members, ensuring their health, safety, and wellness, and mentor, guide, and lead Activity Leaders within the program and activities.

Key duties include building relationships with children, youth, and families, establishing open communication with parents/caregivers, and using Club vans to transport members as required.

You will also prepare nutritious snacks and meals for members, provide group and/or individual behaviour management and support, and ensure Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing Regulations, Risk Management requirements, and general safety standards are met.

To be successful in this role, you will require an education in childcare and/or experience planning, implementing, and evaluating childcare programs.

You must also have a 20-hour responsible adult training or be willing to obtain it internally upon hire, a First Aid Certificate, and a Class 4 Driver's License or be willing to obtain it as soon as possible.

Additionally, you must be at least 19 years of age as per licensing requirements and have successfully completed Agency screening, including a Criminal Record Check.

This is a casual on-call position, working Monday to Friday, with the potential to turn into a permanent position.

Shifts are typically 1:30pm-6:30pm, with increased hours over school breaks.

The rate of pay is $19.82 per hour.
