Job Summary:
BGC Okanagan is seeking experienced Program Leaders to oversee our School Aged Child Care Programs. As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality programs, providing direct supervision, and mentoring Activity Leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging recreational, social, and educational programs for children aged 6-12.
- Provide direct supervision and ensure the health, safety, and wellness of members.
- Mentor and guide Activity Leaders to ensure program success.
- Build relationships with children, youth, and families, and establish open communication with parents/caregivers.
- Transport members using Club vans, if required.
- Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for members.
- Manage behavior and ensure compliance with Agency Policies and Procedures.
Requirements:
- Education in childcare or experience planning and implementing childcare programs.
- 20-hour responsible adult training or willingness to obtain.
- First Aid Certificate and Food Safe certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Class 4 Driver's License or willingness to obtain.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Successful completion of Agency screening, including a Criminal Record Check.
Working Conditions:
Casual on-call hours, Monday to Friday, with potential for permanent positions. Shifts are typically 1:30pm-6:30pm, with increased hours during school breaks.
Compensation:
$19.82 per hour.
