It's a Relief/On Call position working with children ages 6 to 12 years in a licensed Afterschool program. Come join a team that trusts, values, and appreciates YOU. Your adventure begins here – because Opportunity Changes Everything
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and participate in quality and diverse recreational, social, and/or educational programming.
- Provide direct supervision of members, ensuring their health, safety, and wellness.
- Mentor, guide, and lead Activity Leaders within the program and activities.
- Build relationships with the children, youth, and families within their designated programs. Establish open communication with parents/caregivers.
- Use Club vans to pick up members from school and transport them to various sites if required.
- Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for members.
- Provide group and/or individual behaviour management and support. Ensure Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing Regulations, Risk Management requirements, and general safety standards are met.
Qualifications:
- Education in childcare and/or experience planning, implementing, and evaluating childcare programs.
- 20-hour responsible adult training or willingness to obtain internally upon hire.
- First Aid Certificate and Food Safe or willingness to obtain.
- Class 4 Driver’s License or willingness to obtain as soon as possible for some roles.
- Must be at least 19 years of age as per licensing requirements.
- Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check.
Hours: Casual on call hours, Monday to Friday, could be flexible with the number of days per week. Strong potential to turn into permanent positions, most shifts are 1:30pm-6:30pm with increased hours over the school breaks.
Rate of Pay: $19.82 per hour
