Lead Building Code Compliance Officer

As a Senior Building Inspector/Lead Building Inspector, you will oversee and lead inspection activities to ensure that construction projects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and zoning laws. Your role will be crucial in maintaining high standards for construction quality and safety within the jurisdiction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of building inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective and accurate inspections.
- Complex Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of complex and high-profile construction projects, verifying adherence to building codes, safety standards, and approved plans.
- Plan Review: Review and approve building plans and specifications, ensuring they meet all required regulations and standards.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve complex inspection issues and address significant code violations, working closely with contractors, architects, and engineers.
- Documentation: Prepare and review detailed inspection reports, documentation, and compliance records for accuracy and completeness.

- Professional Development: Stay current with changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices, incorporating this knowledge into inspection practices and team training.
Requirements:
- Education: Relevant certification or diploma in Building Inspection, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Extensive experience as a building inspector or in a similar role, with proven expertise in conducting inspections and managing complex cases.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring a team of inspectors.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing complex inspection issues.
